Mission Statement

The aim of the International Holistic Tourism Education Centre© (IHTEC) is to foster a "Culture of Peace Through Tourism" , using concepts that promote "Holistic Tourism Education (H.T.Ed.)".

Objectives

To operate a resource centre for "Holistic Tourism Education" with a focus on contributions from educators around the world.

To collect, research, analyse and develop materials that foster healthy and nonviolent communities through "Holistic Tourism Education".

To train educators in "Holistic Tourism Education" fostering a "Culture of Peace Through Tourism". The courses are to be based on the application of scientific research.

Curricula

Holistic Tourism Education (H.T.Ed.) develops curriculum for schools, colleges and universities focused on positive tourism outcomes through Tourism as a 'Culture of Peace'. This, combined with educational concepts as defined in Holistic Tourism Education, encourages decision-making based on the application of system science research.

The IHTEC's integrated schools' programs are designed to link tourism with existing curricula in cross-cultural appreciation, environmental studies, peace education, global education and the arts.
